At 12, tweens are rapidly developing their own tastes and independence. They often prefer experiences or consumables (like monthly subscription boxes) over traditional toys. The best gifts respect their growing maturity — advanced science kits, creative project sets, books that challenge them, or tech-based activities. Avoid anything that feels too young; this age group notices and appreciates being treated as the capable young people they are.
