At 5, children are developing real interests and growing confidence in their abilities. They love feeling like experts — mastering a skill, completing a project, or showing off something they've made. Gifts that involve a process (building, crafting, experimenting) tend to provide far more value than passive toys. This is an age where a great kit can spark a lifelong passion.
